Morning foxes

Today I decided to go to Meijendel to photograph some of the foxes. In hindsight that may not have been the smartest idea, because on saturdays it's often quite busy on the beach. Even at 7:30am. For that reason, most of the foxes that I did see, would almost instantly be fleeing from passing cars. I hope to one day photograph them on te parking lot at Zwarte Pad, but that was not an option this time. Luckily there was one fox that — very shortly — stayed on a dunetop. Although the photo is very dark, it's unmistakable what animal this is…

Later on, deep in the Meijendel dunes, I was lucky to get a roe deer in front of my lens. Maybe the picture is not that spectacular, but nevertheless it was a nice animal to watch. I'm dreaming of one day shooting a backlit deer silhouette on top of a hill/dune. This particular animal was slowly moving towards the top, so I became hopeful to make a nice picture, but then — just as it was about to reach the top — it decided that was a nice spot to sit. I ended up waiting for an hour in strong, sandblasting winds, but that's part of the fun…
