Red-footed falcon
Red-footed falcon

Beautiful female red-footed falcon as it was hunting and consuming dragonflies straight over my head.

Grey Partridge
Grey Partridge

Beautiful birds that, contrary to me, have no issue with industrial areas. Instead, it's their habitat in this case.

Glossy Ibis
Glossy Ibis

The Glossy — not in a warm/tropical setting — Ibis. I feel like the birds’ shapes somehow fitted the weather.

Bearded reedling
Bearded reedling

One of The Netherlands' most beautiful birds, imho.

Grey Heron
Grey Heron

I cannot deny this — usually — is not a very eye-catching bird, but when it is set against the beautiful colours of fall…

Speedy Teals
Speedy Teals

Shot during a stormy autumn day under very dark light conditions. These eurasian teals were flying all around me at incredible speeds (I would guess over 100km/h). It was really fun to shoot these ludicrously fast and agile birds from in the reeds.

Barn Swallows
Barn Swallows

These Barn Swallows were resting in a tree (~3m away from me), while waiting for the sun to rise. I spent a beautiful sunrise with them.

Purple Sandpiper
Purple Sandpiper

No amount of spray can distract those birds from what is essential: a good rest.
